释义	handprint data-entry terminal 手写数据输入终端 A peripheral device which is a local or remote terminal that can capture handwritten data at the time of writing. It recognizes ordinary handprinting, and translates alpha, numeric, and special characters directly into machine readable form. The system comprises a writing station with an integral 40-character line display. Anyone can write, using an ordinary ballpoint pen or pencil, on to documents designed to suit their applications. Data are captured as they are written. Character recognition takes place within the system and all that is transmitted to the microcomputer is the ASCII character plus its position on the document. 一种在书写的同时能够记录手写数据的本地或远程终端外围设备。它能识别一般的手写字,并能直接将字母、数字和特殊［专用］字符转换为机读格式。这个系统有一个一行显示 40个字符的书写台,任何人都可以用一支普通圆珠笔或铅笔书写适合他们应用的资料,书写的同时得到数据。在系统内部进行字符识别,传送给微型计算机的信息只是ASCII字符及其在资料中的位置。
