An electronic circuit having two stable states, two input lines, and two corresponding output lines such that a signal exists on either one of the output lines if, and only if, the last pulse received by the flip-flop is on the corresponding input line. A flip-flop or binary pair can store one binary digit(bit) of information and it is a bistable device.
