A method of encoding data for transmission (or, possibly, for magnetizable surface storage) in which a line transition occurs in the middle of each bit period with a high-low transition encoding a 1-bit and a low-high transition a 0-bit, A transition also occurs at the end of a bit period when encoding multiple 1-bits or 0-bits.
