A thin, flexible magnetic disk and a semirigid protective jacket, in which the disk is permanently enclosed. There are three sizes of floppy disk: 8, 5.25 and 3.5 inches; the 3.5 inch disks have a rigid protective jacket. They may have data stored on one or both sides, at either single or double density.
