| 释义 | guard zone 保护区 In a track on magnetic disc, a length (say, of 80 bytes) that is left unrecorded (written with zeros) between two adjacent sectors. Its purpose is to ensure that data is never overwritten or unreadable because of inaccuracies in such things as the position of sector marks and the alignment of read/write heads.
