A device that handles data and messages sent between a central processor and remote consoles. The exchange device allows a number of remote consoles to be run simultaneously without mutual interference. It will receive characters sent from these terminals and form them into statements for transferring to memory, results and messages being returned to the proper terminal as necessary.
