| 释义 | digital typography 数字印刷术;［数位印刷术］ In typesetting, the production of type from data stored in digital form. Individual letter forms are represented by digital code stored in a computer. Algorithms convert this code into the appropriate graphic form which is then displayed on a CRT, and projected onto film, or written directly onto film by a laser. The number of bits required to represent a particular letter form may be reduced by the use of splines to represent its constituent curves.
